Contract CDH Setup

The following tables identify all relevant settings for each type of Contract CDH. Refer to these standard settings when creating or modifying Contract CDHs.
Within a given pay class do not place multiple CDH with the same Misc Code 1 value. You must decide on the grouping of CDHs appropriate for each pay class.
Below are suggested grouping of CDHs for Deferred Pay and Non-Deferred Pay employees, and the options available within each grouping.

Switch Settings Defined

Switch 27

Used to identify all the CDHs playing the contract game.

Switch 28

Used to identify special cases within the Retro Utility logic for Retro Pay and Exception CDHs. There are three codes currently used. These three types account for all the CDHs that comprise the total amount for What-Was-Paid that is to be compared to What-Should-Have-Been-Paid.

  • "X"- Used to identify Timecard exception entries (such as Sick and Vacation) that affect the Contract and need to recognize a retroactive change (typically rate change). These hours need to be identified, modified by any Retro effects and then written out to the Retro Batch. These typically are hour codes that affect Contract Earnings directly in order that they may post to GL on dedicated object codes.Note: Exception CDHs that do not have "X" in switch 28 will not be picked up in the retro processing.
  • "P" - Used to mark hour codes considered as part of the What-Was-Paid amount for which we can read from PY History. Use ONLY on Contract contributions.
  • "R" - Used to mark hour codes considered as part of the What-Was-Paid amount for which we need to read from SYSTM records rather than PY History. This would typically be the Retro Pay Hour. Note: Contract Pay CDHs that do not have and "R" or "P" in switch 28 will not be picked up in the retro processing.
