How do I print a Zero Net Check as an EFT Stub Rather Than a Check

The "core" check/eft writer can be configured to print zero net checks as an EFT stub, rather than as a check. This feature is controlled in the PYFG/PY660C common code, Associated Code 3. The setting is "ZEROCHKASEFT." This is the same Associated Code 3 field when set to "PRINTZERONET," a zero net check is printed on check stock. Associated Code 4 must be set to "ALLZERONET' for either of the settings in Associated Code 3 to function. When Associated Code 3 is left blank, no stub is printed, but the history record is updated to "DP" check note status.

To see if you have the "core" Check Writer, check these common codes:

  1. PYFG/PY660C - If this common code exists, you have the newer core Check Writer.
  2. PYFG/PY666C - If Associated Code 1 is of the form PY660xxx where xxx is a mnemonic for your organization, you have the newer core Check Writer.
