Encumbrance Maintenance

Encumbrance information including fiscal year, date, division, account number, amount and description is entered on CMUPCM, Encumbrances tab. This information is entered by line to break down the contract into its component pieces. It is normal practice to fully encumber the amount of the contract prior to running the Send Contract to PO tool.

  1. Estimate encumbrance levels and amounts.
  2. Create an encumbrance request.
  3. Approve the request.
  4. Post and log the encumbrance.
