Job Scheduler - NUUPSC

The Nucleus (NU) Job Scheduler (NUUPSC) page is used to define recurring processes that will execute at a specific defined time.

Job ID: Enter a unique name for the Job being defined. Up to eight-characters may be used.
Description: Enter up to 30 characters that describe the Job being defined.
User ID: Enter the ID (12 characters) of the user scheduling the job. This user must be defined in the ROOTDB.
Status: Enter the status of the job being defined – A C for Active, this job will be run, or IN for Inactive, this job is defined but will not be run.
Job Priority: Enter the priority to launch the jobs created by this process.
Periodicity: Enter the description of when this Job will be run. Examples are given below:
ON 09/01/2014 @ 3:00
DAILY @ 10:00
WEEKLY ON TUE @ 1:00
BIWEEKLY ON WED @ 13:00
MONTHLY ON THE 12 @ 14:00
MONTHLY AT THE EOM @ 14:00
Times between midnight and 1 AM are entered with OO for the hour (i.e., 00:30 for 12:30 AM).
Narrative: Enter a description of what this Job does.
Ledgers: Enter the GL and JL ledgers to use in the processing of this job.
Printers: Select the printer name and priority of the LP and FP printers for this job. Enter the number of copies to print.
Masks: Enter up to four JCL masks that will be performed for this job. For a complete description of JCL masks, refer to the "Special functions in RUNJOB" information in the NUCLEUS user guide. These masks must exist or else the scheduler will be hung up in its call to NU010 and cause performance problems on the rest of the system.
Use File Names: Enter up to eight Use File names that will be performed for this Job ID. Be sure that all jobs launched in any one USE file end with a job echo, code, or priority question (called a "last chance" question), and that all of these last chance questions are ASKMEs. The job will not be likely to launch at the proper time if any last chance question are not ASKME questions. Also, the last chance question should be the only ASKME question for best results. For a complete description of Use Files, refer to the NUCLEUS user guide.
Stream Files: Enter up to six names of flat files to stream when this Job ID is performed.
Created: When adding Scheduled Jobs to the system this field will be initialized to the current date. The user does not enter anything into this field, it is system derived.
Next run: This field will contain the date the job is next scheduled to run. System derived, the user does not enter any information into this field.
Time: This field will contain the time the job is next scheduled to run. System derived.
Last run: This system-derived field contains the date the job was last run.
Process flags: This field contains two Y/N flags that are used internally by the scheduler. If the first flag is "Y", this entry has been processed at least once by the scheduler. If the second flag is "Y", the entry schedules USE files with ASKME questions and these ASKME questions have been answered during a login (NU001) session. Under normal circumstances, the user does not enter any information into this field.
Updated: This system-derived field contains the date the Job definition was last changed.
