PYWA - PFML

State-specific for Washington state

Washington Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) requires both PYWA/PFML and PYWA/PFML2 common codes to be set up for the report (PYRESRWAFM) and file to function properly.

Use this common code to read the manded record to decide whether the contribution is assigned or not to determine exemption. To use this option, enter MANDED SUI in Associated Code 2. The program uses the sui_cntded field to determine if exempt or not. C in the sui_cntded field means it is exempt. Anything other than C means it is not exempt.

This common code works in conjunction with PYWA/PFML2.

Code Category: PYWA

Code Value: PFML

Short Description: Not required. Used to describe the common code.

Medium Description: Enter the preparer name.

Long Description: Enter the business name.

Associated Numeric Values

1: Enter the Pay Base Number that you want reported wages to be based on. If you want pay base 32 to be reported then you would enter 6032 here.

2: Enter the Hour Base Number here that you want to base reportable hours on. If you want to report on hours that hit hour base 26 you would enter 7026 in this field.

3: Enter the Deduction CDH that you want to report, for example 2001.

4: Enter the Contribution CDH that you want to report, for example 1003.

5: Enter the page length of the report. The default is 60 lines per page. If the page totals do not appear at the bottom of the page, or the report shifts, adjust the page length value here.

Associated Codes

1: Enter the CDH and Value number for the FICA deduction with a space delimiter. These values are used to determine the max FICA wage for the current year. For example, 2001 3 would tell the system that the FICA deduction CDH is 2001 and that the value 3 on the CDH definition stores the FICA Annual Limit.

Enter NO FICA to tell the program to not track the FICA limit. It will report the total of the wages for the pay base in Associated Value 1.

2: Enter HR7, CDH STATUS, CDH NUMBER, CDH NUMBER R, or MANDED SUI here to determine exemption. CDH numbers are entered in Associated Description 2.

3-5: Reserved for future use.

Associated Descriptions

1: Enter the UBI number.

2: Enter deduction numbers to work in conjunction with Associated Code 2.

  • If you entered CDH STATUS in Associated Code 2, place the list of CDH numbers that determine exemption, for example 2100,2101. If there is more than one CDH, use only a comma to separate them.

  • If you entered CDH NUMBER in Associated Code 2, place the list of CDH numbers that determine if an employee is exempt. Use the same format as CDH STATUS.

  • If you entered CDH NUMBER R in Associated Code 2, place the list of CDH numbers for Cares Deduction. Employees who have one of these CDHs will be non-exempt. All others are exempt. Use the same format as CDH STATUS.

3-5: Reserved for future use.
