Validate Groups

When importing a Workflow model from one environment into Workflow Designer on another system connection, it is necessary to ensure that the same Workflow roles exist in the new environment. If this is not done, it is possible for errors to occur when processing Workflow model instance records and incorrect ID assignments may take place.

This can be avoided by running the Validate Groups tool after importing an existing Workflow model into a new environment. The tool performs a validation of all Workflow roles that are defined in the Workflow model currently loaded.

Any errors are displayed in the Validate Groups and Users dialog:
Activity – Description: The Workflow activity and its description in which the Workflow role was found.
Problem: Description of the problem found.

Errors must be resolved prior to marking an imported Workflow model live (Active) in the new environment.
