Receipt Format Conversion Utility - ARUTRC
The Receipt Format Conversion utility converts a file made via the Special Forms (ARSPSF) page into an XML file usable by BusinessPLUS to format receipts correctly. The generated file must be moved to each of the 7i Web servers and be renamed to have an ".xml" extension. On the server(s), the XML file should be placed in the "ARReceipts" directory (a typical example file path is inetpub \ wwwroot \ IFAS7 \ XML \ Layout \ Custom \ ARReceipts).
With the file in place, it will show up in the "Receipt Format" drop-down list at the bottom of the Interactive Cash Receipts (ARBTCRIC) page. The page does not need to be re-opened if changes are made to the XML file when in use. The page does need to be re-opened if a new XML file is added to the directory (so that the new format name will appear in the drop-down list).
Create a format in ARSPSF, then run this utility. Enter the name of the file. Typically, this file will be in the PERM directory; e.g., SPFMCR01. Enter a name for the output file name.
On Submit, the new, converted file is created (default location is the DATA directory), and your old input file will be left intact. The file CONVITEM (padded to 80) in the PERM directory is used to convert the Item Names in the original file to the new file. A "report" file is generated during the conversion; it is called "REPORT." Review this file to get more information about the conversion process.
The output file is now ready for download. Ensure the download process uses ASCII transfer method, not BINARY or any other transfer type. Then rename the file so that it has an ".xml" extension.
As a last check before putting the file on the server(s), open Windows Explorer and double-click the XML file. This should bring up Internet Explorer, and display the XML. If Internet Explorer shows errors, you can edit the file with Notepad to fix the error, or go back to ARSPSF and make changes there (and re-run the conversion). The "REPORT" file may have clues as to the source of the problem.
