Benefits

Introduction

The Benefits page allows for reviewing existing benefit assignments. The information for the Covered Individuals is gathered based on the HRPYBE, Dependent/Beneficiary assignments for each employee plan. Name and Relation data comes from the HRPYBE Family tab.

Assignment records from both Benefit Assignments (hr_beneinfo table) and Miscellaneous Assignments (hr_cdhassgn table) display if they are set up in the Benefit Setup page.

For all benefits, the Coverage Amount field displays if the benefit has Coverage Info set up in the Benefit Setup page.

Insurance

Benefit plans defined for EO group INS (Insurance). Typically, this includes basic coverage such as Medical, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Life. Insurance information reads from HRPYBE, Benefit Assignments page.

Plan Category: Indicates the benefit category. Benefit categories typically refer to the level of coverage. For example, Employee Only, Employee + Family, etc. Codes are defined in the HR Entity Specific Codes (HRTBCE) page, Entity Specific Codes tab under the Code ID of BENEFIT_CATEGORY.

Amount: The deduction or contribution amount. Reads from HRPYBE, Benefit Assignments (hr_beneinfo.employee).

Coverage Amount: This field displays if Coverage Info is selected on the Benefit Setup page. The Coverage Amount is derived from the Coverage Info setup to determine which special code includes the coverage amount, multiplied by the Units value.

Covered Individuals

Dependent Name: The name of the covered dependent. Reads from HRPYBE Name field (hr_family.familyname).

Relation: Lists the relation of the covered dependent to the employee. Reads from HRPYBE Relation field (hr_family.relation).

Reimbursement

Benefit plans defined for EO group REIM (Reimbursements). Usually contains the records associated with Medical Flex or Dependent Care plans.

Plan Category: Indicates the benefit category. Benefit categories typically refer to the level of coverage. For example, Employee Only, Employee + Family, etc.

Amount: The deduction or contribution amount.

Covered Individuals

Dependent Name: The name of the covered dependent.

Relation: Lists the relation of the covered dependent to the employee.

Retirement

Benefit plans defined for EO group RETI (Retirement). Usually contains the records associated with retirement benefits.

Plan Category: Indicates the benefit category. Benefit categories typically refer to the level of coverage. For example, Employee Only, Employee + Family, etc.

Amount: The deduction or contribution amount.

Covered Individuals

Dependent Name: The name of the covered dependent.

Relation: Lists the relation of the covered dependent to the employee.

Other Benefits

Benefit plans defined for EO group OTH (Other). Intended for those items that do not fit into any of the previous categories.

Plan Category: Indicates the benefit category. Benefit categories typically refer to the level of coverage. For example, Employee Only, Employee + Family, etc.

Amount: The deduction or contribution amount.

Covered Individuals

Dependent Name: The name of the covered dependent.

Relation: Lists the relation of the covered dependent to the employee.

Dependent Coverage

Some insurance plans require covered dependents be explicitly listed. The Dependent Coverages card on the Benefits page provides a list of all benefits that are currently active for the employee and that have been set up to specify which dependents are covered. It provides data from the hr_depdbenf table in the database, found on HRPYBE, Dependent Beneficiaries tab.

Dependent Name: The name of the covered dependent.

Relation: Lists the relation of the covered dependent to the employee.

Active Plans

Plan Name: The name of the benefit plan. Reads from HRTBBE, Benefit Definition tab, Long Desc field (hr_benetble.long_desc).

Begin Date: The beginning date of the coverage. In the case of a dependent to be covered under a medical plan, the begin date should be set to when the dependent first became covered. Reads from HRPYBE Dependent Beneficiaries (hr_depdbenf.begdt).

End Date: The end date indicates when the record expires. In the case of a dependent removed from a medical plan, this date represents the last date the dependent was covered. Reads from HRPYBE Dependent Beneficiaries (hr_depdbenf.enddt).
