Requirement Codes - HRTBCRRQ

To use the Credential Module, all position/job code credential requirements must be entered on the Human Resources (HR) Requirement Codes (HRTBCRRQ) page prior to a PCN and position assignment being made on the HR Pay Assignment (HRPYPA/HRPYQP) pages.

This Requirement Codes page enables the system to check whether an employee being assigned a particular position holds the required credentials. When an employee is given a PCN and position assignment on the HR Pay Assignment page, the system goes to this table to look up the required credentials for the given position or job. The system then goes to the HR Credential Information (HRCRCN) page to identify what credentials the employee holds. If a match is found, the system allows the assignment to proceed. If no match is found, the system displays a warning message that credential requirements have not been satisfied and updates the reason code with 00-REQ. CREDS NOT MET. The variations present within this type checking are numerous. Credential requirements tracking may be by the job code or the position number. The method depends on how position control and the HR Job Code Definitions (HRTBJB) page have been set up. If the job code is specific enough (for example, every employee who receives a PCN and position associated with job code X), JB may be entered to identify that the job code is to be checked. Similarly, if the position is used, the code of PS may be entered to identify that the position is to be checked.

Entity: Indicates the entity to identify security clearance. Code values are defined in the HR Entity Codes (HRRQEN) page.

Use Code: Indicates whether the job code or the position number will be used to track the credential requirements. The tracking method depends on how position control and HRTBJB are set up. If the job code is specific enough (for example, every employee who receives a PCN and position associated with job code X), JB may be entered to identify that the job code is to be checked. Similarly, if the position is used, the code of PS may be entered to identify that the position is to be checked. Codes are predefined in the system and not available for modification.

Position: If a code of PS is entered into the Credential Use Code field, a Position must be entered. Codes are defined in the HR PCN/Position Code Definitions (HRTBPC) page.

Job Code: If a code of JB is entered into the Credential Use Code field, a job code must be entered. Codes are defined in HRTBJB.

All Credentials Required: Indicates whether all credential requirements entered and associated with all record types are to be required for a given position or job code.

Grouping Code: The grouping code identifies whether a line item is required or is an option. Codes are predefined in the system and not available for modification.

Action: Indicates the action or purpose for entering or modifying a record. Code values are defined in the HR Non-Entity Specific Codes (HRTBHR) page under the Code ID of ACTION_CODE.

Effective Dates (Begin Date and End date): Indicates the dates that the requirements are in effect.

Detail Records

Required? The credential requirement code identifies whether a line item is required or is an option. Codes are predefined in the system and not available for modification.

Type: Indicates the credential type code. The code description displays to the right of the code. Codes are defined in the HR Credential Type Codes (HRTBCRTC) page.

Subject: Indicates the subject code which identifies the major/minor/ endorsement codes that may be assigned based on the given credential type. Codes are defined in the Credential Type Codes Storage (HRTBCRTH) system-use table created when data entry is performed on HR Credential Type Codes.

Table Type: The table type is system derived based on the subject code. Unless the subject code equals NA (indicating that a subject code was not found), this value will automatically fill with an SU (for Major Codes) or an SA (for Minor Codes). If the subject code is NA, table type values may be entered based on the available codes listing. Codes are predefined in the system and not available for modification.

MA/MI Code: Indicates the major/minor/endorsement code identifying what the credential holder can do with a given credential term and type. Codes are defined in the HR Credential Major/Minor Codes (HRTBCRMA) page.
