Back Order Processing
When items are not available in the warehouse inventory, the system creates a record with a status of Back Order. This will not be picked up during a standard run of pick tickets as the SIOEPK process is pulling up all new orders only.
It is necessary to run Print Backorders (SIOEPB) prior to SIOEPK to ensure that all backorders are filled before any new orders. SIOEPB will produce Pick Tickets for the back-ordered items that are now available in inventory. Once the Back Order items are filled, SIOEPK can be run and the new orders filled.
Cancelling Back Orders
- To cancel a back order, change the quantity on the back ordered items to zero in SIOEUB.
- To update the order status from PN to FL there are two options. Both options will verify that all item quantities ordered have been filled and change the order status to FL: 1) Run SIUTOR to Verify the Order Status Codes, or 2) run SIOEFL for the order for which the back order is being cancelled.
