Post Exceptions to GL and SI - SIINCTPS

If an exception exists between the physical count and the system-generated Current Amount, the Current Amount in Stores Inventory should be adjusted to reflect the exception. Additionally, the General Ledger Inventory Account should be adjusted to reflect the exception. Posting Exceptions to the General Ledger and Stores Inventory will accomplish this. Once the quantities are verified as correct, the next step is to update the inventory quantities and value in the system by posting the exceptions to SI and GL. The pricing for the exception postings, SIINCTPS, will be derived from the "Default Global Price Calculation" field on the SIUPGN screen if the "Exception Price Calc" field is blank in SIUPWH.

Count file name: Enter the count file name from which to post exceptions.
Posting Date: Enter the date that is to be used for the General Ledger postings. The current date will default.

When the utility is run, a series of reports are produced. The exceptions are then posted to the General Ledger and Stores Inventory and a posting report will be printed. An increase will be posted as RC (receiving) and a decrease as DM (demand).  In order to have the exceptions automatically post to the General Ledger, the posting logic, including posting codes and posting preferences, must be defined in the General Ledger system. Review the GL Posting report to check the Audit totals.
