Email Notification - PD Instructor

An instructor can send an email to participants by selecting the Email Notification tab under the Instructor/Facilitator menu. Within the page, each current course will be listed. Select Email Notification next to the desired course to create an email. The PDUS/DEFAULTScommon code must be defined for this functionality to work.

The email is composed and sent directly from the Web to all registered participants. The email addresses of external participants are stored in the PE database maintained via the Person/Entity Information (PEUPPE) page. The email address of employee participants and instructors is stored in the HR Employee Master (HREMEN) page.

By default, all participants are selected to receive the email notification. The instructor can uncheck (or recheck) the participants from the Active Participant List to determine who needs to receive the email notification.

After composing the email text, click Email to submit the email notification to the workflow engine (PD_INS_REGMAIL model) for emailing the selected participants, and the instructor in the Cc field.

Email communications can be sent to participants when the course is in Active or Completed status. The PD administrator has access to these communications from the Course Definition (HRPDUPCD) page. These communications are collated into threaded notes at the course level. The email (after being sent) would be stored in HRPDUPCD, under the Course Entity, within the Attachments section of the side options drawer.

Clicking on the note opens the Threaded Notes Editor, allowing the administrator to find all emails sent from PD on that specific class.
