Interface Configuration - RMSSCI
Basic setup for the postings is done in the Interface Configuration (RMSSCI) page. This is where, for example, budgeting flags are set and reason codes are defined.
Positions
Allow Request for New Position: When checked, this allows the option to request, on the Interface Posting Requisition (RMUPPI) page, a posting for an undefined position (undefined in the HR PCN/Position Code Definitions (HRTBPC) page. This allows submitting a request for a new position efficiently within the system, eliminating additional email/phone communication. When a request for a New Position is submitted, the system will NOT create an HR PCN/Position entry, as this remains a manual activity. However, during the approval process, the Position Requisition form can be updated and set to Existing Position when the newly created PCN/Position has been allocated. As a result, the request can start with a request for a new position and end as a request tied to an existing PCN/Position.
Budgeting
Show Position Control Distribution: When checked, the Interface Posting Requisition (RMUPPI) page will show the default Position Control account distribution as defined on the HR Regulation of PCN (HRTBRG) page that is associated with the selected Position. If unchecked, the default Position Control distribution will not appear.
Allow Alternate Distribution Request: When checked, entering an alternative budget allocation is allowed. Requests submitted in this way are not subject to Position Control checking. If unchecked, this option is not available.
Enforce Position Control at Request Time: When checked, a Posting Requisition cannot be saved or submitted when Position Control Budget indicates there is insufficient budget available. The next steps would be:
- Modify the request to meet the budgetary requirements, and/or
- Request a Position Control Budget Transfer (if configured to be available) to pull available FTE/Amount from other PCN/Position(s) to fulfill the budgetary requirements.
If unchecked, a Posting Request can be saved and submitted even if there is insufficient Position Control budget available.
Show Position Control Transfer Request: When checked, a Position Control Transfer Request can be entered as part of the Posting Request in an over budget Position Control situation. Enabling this option does NOT automatically update the Position Control tables when someone is hired. Those tables need to be updated manually. If unchecked, this feature is not visible in the Budget section of the Posting Request.
Disable Salary Range: When checked, the "Salary From" and "Salary To" fields on the Posting Request page will be disabled.
Do not use the PCN Budget Status code of 02 on the HR PCN/Position Code Definitions page for Budget by Amount when this feature is enabled.
External Service Input Adjustment
Append to the Beginning of Address Line 2: A prefix of up to five characters can be appended to the beginning of Address Line 2 of the data coming in to the Interface Hiring Information (RMUPHI) page. For example, if this field shows "Apt." and the applicant data coming in through the interface contains "1234" then the result in the Applicant's Address Line 2 field will be "Apt. 1234." Anything past 30 characters will be truncated without warning. If this field is left blank, then data coming through the interface will be listed as is.
Seeds
Posting Seed: Indicates the value that will be assigned to the next new posting record.
Applicant Seed: Indicates the value that will be assigned to the next new Applicant ID.
For each of the seed items, the first field represents the prefix to be assigned to it. The prefix can be up to two characters. The Code Value represents the next sequential number and needs to be represented by eight digits (e.g., "00000001"). Between the two components, the concatenated maximum length is 10.
Reason Codes
Customizable codes that indicate the reason a requisition is being created. Used in the Interface Posting Requisition (RMUPPI) page.
Code Value: One character to use as a code. Duplicates are not allowed.
