User Setup
If a user is created from the Web, their records will be stored in the PE database and the NU User database after the PD administrator approves the request. It is also possible to manually enter the users.
Person/Entity (PEUPPE)
First access the Person/Entity Information (PEUPPE) page and add the PE ID (select the + (plus) symbol).
The PE ID must match the NU User ID if manually creating the user.
Name is a required field.
Select 1 and Select 2 fields are used for PDINST if the user is a PD Instructor/Facilitator. Without this, the Instructor/Facilitator cannot be searched for in PD Course Definition. It is important that each user have an email address, as the system will be using automated emails. Select the Emails tab and select the Email Type Cd: Primary or other user definable options from the drop-down, and enter the users Email address.
When manually entering a user, make sure the Address, Phone, and Email Types are in accord with Common Code PDUS/DEFAULTS.
For all locations that will be used in PD Course Definitions, they must be defined in PE Information, and Select 1 field must have PDLCTN.
Nucleus User Manage Users
The second step of creating a user is entering them into the NU Manage Userspage. This can also be accessed through the Admin Console, Manage Users.
User ID must match the PE ID in PE Information. User Name and Description are required fields. Location, Manager and Hours must match what was set up in common code PDUS/DEFAULTS. Status, Maximum Job, Line Printer and Form Printer are also required fields.
For an Instructor/Facilitator account, set Workflow Enable to Y.
Security for the Instructor/Facilitator is set on the Security tab. If they are an External Instructor/Facilitator, be sure to give them the correct Security Role.
Select the Workflow tab. Set them into the PDADMIN Role if the user is to be the PD administrator. This user will then receive notifications in their workflow task list when a new user has requested a login from the Web, an instructor/facilitator needs a course approved, or a participant needs a certificate reprinted.
Select the Associations tab. All Professional Development participants must have a Code of PDPART; Professional Development instructors must have PDINST. A user may have both. To add another Code, select the + (plus) symbol in the lower left-hand corner of the tab, select the Codes from the drop-down, enter the User ID as the Value, and press the Enter key to save.
Select Tools to add a user password. Select Set User Password and enter a user password. Confirm New Password and press OK.
Select Tools, then Select Rebuild User Security and press OK.
If a user creates their login from the Web, this process will automatically be generated once the PD administrator has approved the account.
