Information Categories
Information categories are managed from the Sub Report Definition window.
Add
To add an information category to a sub report:
- Select the Add button. The Information Category window is displayed.
- If needed, expand the folders to view available categories.
- Select the desired category and click Next. The Sort window is displayed.
- Sort order for a sub report is defined in the same manner as sort order is defined for the main report. Available data elements are displayed in a tree structure in the fields window. Using the Add and Remove arrow keys, select the fields on which you want to base sorting of data in the report. Once you have selected the data elements you want, the order of these elements is determined using the sort order buttons. Elements can be raised in the sort order, lowered in the sort order, or removed from the list of items.
- Click Next. The Selection Criteria window is displayed.
- Sub report selection criteria ties the sub report to the main report in the same manner as in a drill down. You have the option of viewing the selection criteria information in either short or verbose format. To add selection criteria to the sub report, click Add. The Report Item window is displayed.
- After you select a data element on which to base the new selection criteria, you have many options in regard to relating the chosen data element to either a user-defined value or another data element. For example, if your selection criteria are based on a GL Object Code greater than 0100, you would first select the data element that represented the GL Object, then select "greater than" from the Comparison drop-down, then select a Response Type and click Next. The Report Item window is displayed.
- Enter the value upon which you want your selection criteria to be based (0100 in our example).
- Click Finish to be returned to the Selection Criteria window.
- Click Finish again and you will be returned to the Sub Report Definition window. The information category is added to the Subreport Data section.
- If no additional changes are needed for the sub report, click Finish to return to the main report design window.
Update
- Select the information category in the Subreport Data section of the Sub Report Definition window.
- Click Edit.
- Make the necessary changes in the Sort and Selection Criteria tabs.
- Click OK.
Remove
- Select the information category in the Subreport Data section of the Sub Report Definition window.
- Click Delete.
- The item is removed from the Subreport Data section.
