Installation

When Productivity Pack is purchased, the client will have access to the installed directory "WebForms" on each BusinessPlus Web Server. This directory contains the forms, downloaded Workflow models, and any supporting lookup files. The task list style sheet is delivered in the standard style directory. Therefore, it is not necessary to install the style sheet.

Web Forms are designed to use BusinessPlus email for sending email notifications (Workflow Email Client, also known as "Chilkat"), and the email content is highly customizable.

Install Web Form Workflow Models

Each Workflow model must be loaded into the BusinessPlus Workflow model table by importing it into Workflow via the Workflow Designer. The new Web Forms are located in the <IFAS7>/WebForms/Models directory and utilizes a ".wdl" file suffix to indicate it is a Workflow model definition file.

Steps to import a Workflow model into a target database are as follows:

  1. Open Workflow Designer with the target system connection (development, test, production). Select the "File/Import" option from the menu bar. Make sure Workflow Designer is executing against the same system connection as the target environment for the Workflow model.
  2. Select the model, for example "VENDOR_REQUEST.wdl," from the IFAS7/WebForms/Models directory. This will import the Workflow model file into Workflow Designer. At this point, it is not in the target database.
  3. Select the "File/Save" option from the menu bar. The action saves the Workflow model to the BusinessPlus Workflow model table. The resulting Workflow model is still not recognized by the BusinessPlus Data Processing/Workflow Processing services yet. Since BusinessPlus caches the Workflow model definitions, it is also necessary to recycle the services.
  4. Recycle/Flush Services. The last step necessary in the installation process is the recycling of the BusinessPlus Data Processing/Workflow Processing services. This is because Workflow models are cached in each service to facilitate their processing. Either users can recycle the services, or they can flush the Workflow object cache. The following steps can be taken to flush the cache on the target system connection (all servers in farm).
  • Open the BusinessPlus Administrative Console and select 7i Server Admin > Utilities > Monitor Servers.
  • Click the "Flush Server Cache" option in the Tools tab.
  • In the resulting dialog box, click the "Workflow Object List" checkbox. Leave the "Group Broadcast" checkbox checked since all BusinessPlus Web Servers in the farm (if one exists) need to be flushed.
  • Click the "OK" button. All Web servers in the farm will flush their cache of Workflow Objects so that the next time services run, they will cache the information anew and recognize the Workflow model on the next pass.
