Security Rollover

Existing user security privileges can be rolled over to the 7.9 security structure using the Administrative Console plugin or the launcher.

Rollover from Launcher

The launcher is a command-based windows console module used to execute a variety of applications. The command to roll over a user ID is:
launcher.exe -c <Database Connection> -a BT70NU -i RollOver -m RollOverUser -s userId <User Id> OverWrite <True/False>

Rollover from Administrative Console

The Security Rollover plugin in the Administrative Console (Security Admin > Setup) is the preferred user security rollover interface as it can roll over multiple users.

Process

User ID, name and their rollover status (if rolled over by the rollover module) of all users in the selected database will be displayed when the Security Rollover plugin is opened. From the Options drop-down menu, the user can:

• Select All Users
• Select All Un-rolled Users
• Un-select All

Individual users may be selected/un-selected manually using the check box provided for each user. If "Override Existing Roll" box is checked, all selected user roles (if existing) will be overwritten.

The Rollover button initiates the rollover process, which may take up to a minute per user. The process status is displayed in the Details panel along with any error messages.
