Web Server - BP Install
Installation Steps
On the Installation Validation screen, enter your installation code and installation key to unlock your products. You may select products visible in black, but products in gray may not be available to you based on the code/key combination entered.
Select Windows Server Components. Drag, and Drill and Administrative Console are automatically checked, since both are needed on the server hosting BusinessPlus. Some products require Windows Server and therefore will not be available if you do not run this on a Windows Server.
The Selected Applications screen will display an overview of all products that will be installed. If any Service Packs are needed for Windows, they will be displayed here and will be launched automatically. Generally, a Windows Service Pack update will require a reboot. You will be prompted for this if necessary.
After completing the selection of products to install, the installer will progress into the configuration options:
- All dll's and executables for the selected products will be installed under the selected path displayed in the Select Destination Directory screen. Select "Browse" to change the destination directory.
- The Data Source Configuration screen sets up the SQL Server ODBC connection that BusinessPlus will use to connect to the system catalog database. This connection should point at the syscat database, not the BusinessPlus database (unless the syscat tables reside in the BusinessPlus database).
- If Document Capture is selected, the scanning capabilities of Documents Online will be installed.
- On the Web Server Configuration screen, select the directory where the BusinessPlus pages will be installed.
- If applicable, enter configuration settings for applications such as Employee Online.
After all information is entered, select the Next button on the Ready to Install screen to begin the installation.
