Pay Class

Pay classes must be identified as either CNTR (contractual assignments, salary, patched hours) or HRLY (timecard-driven assignments, no patching) to determine the type of adjustment needed for the employee.

For example, an hourly employee may only report FFCRA – Self for 8 hours and will require a positive adjustment to pay 8 hours of leave, while a contractual employee will not require an adjustment because their pay has already been patched.

On the PY Pay Class Definition (PYUPPY) page:

  • Mark all active contract pay classes CNTR in Misc Code 5.
  • Mark all active other pay classes HRLY in Misc Code 5.
  • Add the three new FFCRA hours codes to each pay class marked CNTR or HRLY.
  • Optionally, if a client chooses to identify assignments by pay class, enter the FFRCA code value in the designated Misc Code field, as identified in common code FFRC/HOURS.
