Export Security

The Export Security plugin in the Administrative Console (Security Admin > Setup) is used to create a file of role-based security data to be moved from one account to another. This plugin is intended to move data from a mirror image account back to the originating account. Users in the source account are expected to be the same in the target account referring to the US_NO and US_ID from the US_USNO_MSTR. Use of this plugin is not intended to add new user records or update information on the user record other than assigning security roles. Its purpose is to move security role information to the import location.

From the Export Security screen, the user can export all roles or a selected set of roles to be moved to another account. The utility will unload the roles to an archived zip file. This process can be used to move security roles from test to production or simply to back up security roles prior to making changes.

Use the Select Roles file menu to select the roles to export. The following selection options are available:

  • Select All Roles
  • Find/Search — Brings up the search dialog to select individual roles. Enter search criteria and click Apply. Highlight the roles to import and click OK.

This process can be repeated as many times as needed to build the list of roles to be exported. Each time, the selected roles are added to the export list. From the list, the user can remove any of the roles by selecting the role(s) and pressing the "Remove" button. To clear the list, use Select Roles > Clear Role List.

Exporting Roles

Once the list of roles is complete, select the Export button in the toolbar to begin the export process. A "Save As" file dialog will appear. Type in a file name for the archive that will be created for the export. The file extension must be .zip. The plugin will automatically add the extension.

Click the Save button to start the export. The archive (zip) file is then created. This file can be imported using the Import Security tool.
