PYHR-SUBMISCx Setup

The standard STUTLF process loads in just the basic information from the Substitute Management System flat file, for example Job ID, Absence Date, Absentee Import ID, Substitute Import ID, Reason Code, Absentee Hours, Substitute Hours, etc. Sometimes the client needs a piece of information from somewhere in the flat file that is not one of the pieces of information imported by the standard STUTLF process. The PYHR/SUBMISC1 and PYHR/SUBMISC2 common code/functionality allows a client to pull information from the flat file into the Absentee Misc, Substitute Misc, Position, Account and Site fields on STUPIM from anywhere in the flat file.

These are the extra fields that can be populated in STUPIM from the input file using the PYHR/SUBMISC# common code:

If more than 5 fields are needed, PYHR/SUBMISC2 can be set up for the additional items.

PYHR/SUBMISC1 is set up as follows. The Associated Codes fields hold the position numbers of the information in the input file that you want to copy to a field on STUPIM. For instance, "168,176" is (in this case) the 9-character Imported Substitute ID in the input file.

The Associated Descriptions fields are used to tell the software in what STUPIM field to put the information.

Names and Max Range length for Each IMPORT field:

ABS1-ABS10, SUB1-SUB10

33 long

POSN

31 long

ACCT

45 long

SITE

9 long

In this example, we are telling the software to take the Substitute ID and put it in the Position field:

So, we are expecting the Substitute ID to show up in STUPIM Position field after STUTLF completes:

Next, common code PYHR/SUBMISC2 is set up to grab two additional text strings from the input file and place them in STUPIM Substitute Miscellaneous 09 and 10 fields.

In this case, "58,68" and "9,17" are the Worker Last Name and the Absentee ID, respectively:

These are the values we expect to see in STUPIM Sub Misc 09 and 10 based on common code PYHR/SUBMISC2.
Run STUTLF with our upload file.
Check STUPIM for the newly imported records. Note that Substitute Miscellaneous fields 09 and 10 are populated with the expected information based on common code PYHR/SUBMISC2:

You can also see that Imported Position, Imported Account, Imported Site, and Absentee Miscellaneous fields are populated correctly based on common code PYHR/SUBMISC1:
