System Setup - PD
User Security
To access the Professional Development portal, security must be established in the form of a specific User ID record in NU User Information page with an Association Code of either "PDPART", "PDINST", or both. This signifies that the user is a Participant and/or Instructor, and the appropriate PD options will appear when accessing the PD portal. Employees must have a User ID (i.e., NU User record) to access the PD system, along with the appropriate "PDPART" and/or "PDINST" association. See Security Setup for more information.
Workflow
When non-employee users access the Professional Development portal, they can request the creation of an account. The Workflow model PD_SIGNUP can then create the user automatically (which is stored in PE or NU User database). Creation of the new user account requires setting up defaults in NU Common Codes Category/Value PDUS/DEFAULTS. See Workflow Setup for more information.

Codes Setup
The purpose of the PD Codes (HRPDUPCC) subpages is to define the master table of various codes that can be used in the Course Definition process. To add records on this page, select the " + " symbol at the top of the page. The Category and Requirement Codes define levels of certification, performance-based incentives or other organizational related development goals. One or more Proficiency Code(s) may be associated with a Course to identify that it fully or partially fulfills the Proficiency.
