Defining a New Bank ID
New bank IDs are set up in common code CKID/XX, where XX is the bank ID. The new definition may be a standard bank or electronic bank. All payments begin with a standard bank. After successful APOHPPPA processing, the payment's associated bank ID will update in APOHUPTR (OH_dtl) and the Bank Reconciliation database per the PE's payment preference. The payment will process as a check (standard bank ID) or update to an electronic bank ID. The record's bank ID will only update to an electronic bank ID if the given vendor prefers electronic payments, such as EFT or ePAY.
When defining a new bank ID, the following items may be affected:
- Check stock format definition file (SYSPUB) for the new Bank ID (SPFMxxCK where xx is the 2-character Bank ID).
- If the user prefers to run one bank per job, modify NUUPJBNQ, Question CK37 vs CKCK on the menu for a given page. The menu typically defaults to CKCK. However, CK37 will present Bank IDs within a drop-down list of bank IDs when the users run the check printing masks (e.g. APOHPPRP, APIPBTDP). CKCK allows @@ for multiple banks. Note that APOHPPPA must reference a specific bank ID because of the SPFM form for the check.
- NUUPDF - Modify any nucleus defaults that involve Bank IDs.
- Administrative Console, Manage Security Roles - Modify any security roles based on bank IDs.
- Modify any interface where the bank ID is hard-coded.
- If the bank reconciliation process is used, enter new sets of BKRC common codes for the new bank IDs.
- Modify any posting preferences (GLUTSPPP and/or GLUTSPCK) based on bank IDs.
- If CKKEY or CKOBJ is used in subsystem interfaces (GLUTSPSI), verify the account numbers are listed on the new CKID/XX common codes for the new bank IDs.
