BusinessPlus Smoke Test
The following steps should be followed after install of BusinessPlus updates to ensure the release has been loaded properly.
DB Server
Verify Recommitted Snapshot is set.
Verify Compatibility Settings set to highest supported by DB server.
App Server
Verify the correct Release and Build has been loaded.
Web Server
Perform on first server in a farm
Verify the correct Release and Build has been loaded.
Verify SSL is enforced and http is disabled in IIS Manager.
Launch BusinessPlus Configuration Utility to verify entries are consistent on all servers.
Launch Admin Console
a. 7i Server Admin > Setup > Configure Local Server > Misc tab
Verify BP Web Servers
b. Security Admin > Setup > Manage Security Structure
Click Rebuild button
c. Database Admin > Utilities > SQL Query
Run the following SQL and verify it is the FQDN to a single server in the farm and not the farm name:
select value from us_setting where subsystem = '@@' and area = 'BLOB_DATA' and name = 'LOCATION'
Login to UI. https://servername/screens/ui/home
a. Save Job Monitor to dashboard if not present. Log out and back in to verify save.
b. Using the menu tree on left side of the screen:
i. Launch HRPYPR. Close screen.
ii. Launch ENBTDS. Close screen.
c. Using the mask type ahead in upper right:
i. Launch the HRPYPR data entry screen. Close screen.
ii. Launch ENBTDS. Close screen.
iii. Launch PYTCDTUB. Close screen.
iv. Launch the NUFLCD screen. Enter NULP as selection criteria and choose Archive as the printer. Submit Job. Verify output appears in Job Monitor.
d. Run a standard CDD report (if present).
e. Launch Cognos dashboard (if present and in scope of update).
Login to EO. https://localhost/employeeonline
Note: Localhost will redirect to proper url. Access denied may mean the user does not have access to EO. Site may need to provide a valid EO user to test. URL will fail if EO was not installed which may be normal.
DMZ Server
Verify the correct Release and Build has been loaded. All servers need to match.
Verify SSL is enforced and http is disabled in IIS Manager.
Launch BusinessPlus Configuration Utility to verify settings.
Login to EO.
Verify Integration Services is working for the following products if present:
a. PowerSchool Talent ATS/Records
b. Frontline AppliTrack
