Configuring Escape Sequences for Laser Printing
To ensure proper alignment and formatting when printing forms via laser printers, users must configure escape sequences that correspond to the specific form type.
Form-Specific Escape Sequence Setup
1099 Forms Escape sequences are stored in a text file located in the
admin/permdirectory on the application server.W-2 Forms Escape sequences are entered in the Long Description field of common code
PYFG/PY601C.ACA Forms (1095-C) Escape sequences are entered in the Long Description field of common code
ACAR/1095CPRT.
PCL 5 Escape Sequence Examples
The following examples are compatible with most PCL 5-compliant printers (e.g., HP models). These sequences may vary depending on your printer model. For precise command syntax, refer to your printer’s product reference guide.

Esc &k2G | Sets the printer to do a line feed and carriage return. This is necessary for some printers if it prints the first line only or prints the second line indented and third line indented even more. |

Use the following escape sequences to activate specific PDF form overlays:

The Esc character is non-printable and is represented by an asterisk (*) in the examples above.
Important Formatting Notes
The lowercase letter "l" in escape sequences (e.g.,
&l) may resemble the number "1". Ensure accurate entry to avoid formatting errors.
