Blocking or Warning by Global Setting
The easiest way to set up budget controls is to turn on global warning or blocking with the NU Common Codes Category/Value of GLFG/LEVELS. However, this is often too broad a selection as it will be applied to all account numbers entered throughout BusinessPlus.
Two steps are required to turn on the global warning feature:
- Enable Totals to Accumulate by placing checkmark in box for "Those defined in 'GLFG Levels' Code" on GLUPGN, Miscellaneous tab. This allows the use of a common code to specify at which object and object group levels to maintain accumulators and set global budget warning or blocking at any object group level.
- Define GLFG/LEVELS common code.
Utilizing this method will cause budget checking throughout all modules of the software, regardless of whether a budget exists. This method will slow data entry with warns or blocks if budgets are not defined.
