BusinessPlus Output - Archive
One of the ways Documents Online can assist in managing documents is to serve as a virtual printer in the BusinessPlus environment. This allows printed output to be sent to Documents Online instead of the printer directly. The process works by passing the output to Workflow and then having a Workflow model pick up the printed output and pass it along to Documents Online. The output can then be viewed by the user in PDF format and printed from within the Adobe PDF Viewer. Refer to the Documents Online, Archive, Setup online help for detailed information. The user can display and store the BT70 or workflow job output in plain text and XML.
Since the data stored is a ZIP-compressed version of the ASCII output from the BusinessPlus process, its disk usage is small (depending on repeating patterns and other factors). However, for the long-term, these documents should either be sent to the Archive Database or removed altogether as their accumulation over time will affect searching and retrieval.
Viewing the Output
After the BusinessPlus output has been archived, it is classified by BusinessPlus Page and Job Number. Note that BusinessPlus job numbers (for example, 123456) are not the same as the standard MPE job numbers users may be accustomed to viewing (for example, J1234). BusinessPlus job numbers ensure a more reliable classification method because the numbers are not reused.
To display the BusinessPlus output after it has been archived, you can either browse to the BusinessPlus Output viewer directly (http://<server>/ifas7/documents/ifasoutput.aspx) or add a Web Link favorite and use a Dashboard Links component.
The menu tree on the output page is based on the masks used to archive the printed output. Below the mask name are the job numbers (sorted with most recent first) that were created when running that mask.
If the user's functional security (assigned role) allows them to only access their own BusinessPlus output, the tree will be limited to only the BusinessPlus output generated by them. If users can access BusinessPlus output from other users, the tree is limited to the masks they have access to in BusinessPlus Job Running Security.
Job Monitor Component
Another way to display the BusinessPlus output is from the Job Monitor dashboard component which displays job information from the application host specific to the user. Selecting the job expands the component element to display job details and attachments (documents archived with this job, such as tail sheets). Select the Doc ID link to open the attachment in a separate window.
By default, the jobs component attempts to access BatchJob using the host on the Telnet Host tab of the connection manager and will use the default port of 8418. In the event your environment uses a batchjob listening on a different port, the BatchJob Port number on the Telnet Host tab will need to be changed to the appropriate port.
