The Payroll (PY) Codes page holds payroll specific codes used in payroll processing and reporting. The top portion of this page is the master definition record. A master record is an entry with a unique Code ID. Multiple detail records can be viewed and/or manipulated in the grid mode, as seen below.
Code ID: The Code ID is used to identify the group of detail records displayed in the lower portion of the page.
Description: This field holds the code description (up to 30 characters).
Char/Num: This field identifies whether the "Code" of the detail records is N – numeric, A – alphabetic, or X – alphanumeric.
Length: This field displays the maximum code length the Code ID detail records.
Owner: Options: C – client-defined, or R – reserved for BusinessPLUS use.
Code: The two-character code value for use in Payroll process and reports.
Group: The user-defined grouping for code definitions.
Short Desc: Enter up to 16 characters for the Code's short description.
Long Desc: Enter up to 30 characters for the Code's long description.
Value 1-5: / Misc CD 1-5: These fields enable custom code definitions to be used in the drop-down lists of the detailed time entry panel in Timecard Online.
