Asset Link Definition - FAUPLK
Use this Fixed Assets (FA) Asset Link Definition (FAUPLK) page to establish Link ID codes. Link IDs are used to associate assets for reporting purposes. Where assets need individual depreciation structures, for reporting, the total dollar value would be summed by the link ID.
For example, an existing asset of a bus with an add-on of a new engine and wheelchair hoist would have different acquisition dates and depreciation schedules. By creating and assigning a Link ID to each of the assets, the dollar amount of each asset can be summed and reported as a total dollar amount with a common description. (Link ID of "10" and a Link Description of "Bus with Wheelchair Hoist".)
Ledger: Select the Ledger code from the drop list. This field defaults to the ledger code currently active.
Link ID: This is a user-defined, numeric code value between 1 and 9999, to be used to link-associate the multiple assets. Link IDs are defined per Ledger. Once defined, the ledger-specific Link IDs will be available for use in a drop list on the main window of the Fixed Assets Update (FAUPAS) page.
Link Description: Up to 30 characters used to describe the Link ID.
