Flat File Management - NUUPFL
The Nucleus Flat File Management (NUUPFL) page is designed to centralize control and access to certain "flat" files within BusinessPlus. For example, RX, TF, and Use Files in all subsystems are maintained within this area. Normally, the system will maintain the area and no user intervention is required. However, because the fully qualified name is stored with each file, manual changes will be necessary if the name of the production account changes or is copied to the test account.
File Name: Same as the fully qualified file name without the group and account fields (e.g., if the fully qualified name is MONTHEND.DATA.BSI, and then the File Name is MONTHEND).
File Type: Four-character code that identifies the type of file. Valid codes include:
TFTC | Table Formatter Table of Contents |
RXTC | GL Ad Hoc Report Writer Table of Contents |
HRTC | HRIS Table of Contents |
SYUS | RUNJOB Use File |
GLUS | GL Use File |
OHUS | Open Hold Use File |
xxUS | xx=Subsystem Use File |
SCHD | Response to scheduler Use File question |
Full Name: Fully qualified name of the file (e.g., MONTHEND.DATA.BSI). If the production Account is copied to another account or renamed, the account portion of the file should be changed to reflect the correct account. Otherwise, the system will still access Use Files and Table of Contents files from the original account. In the special case of type SCHD files, this name is the concatenation of the Use File name which posed the ASKME question being answered by this entry, and the question: number of the questions being asked. This is used by the Nucleus Scheduler to send responses to the system to allow a job to be scheduled from a Use File with ASKME questions.
User Number: User Number of the user that created this entry. The User Number is system-generated when the User ID is defined.
User Name: The system displays the name of the user as identified by the User Number.
File Description: For Use Files, this field contains the user-entered description for this file. For files of Type SCHD, this field contains the answer to the Use File "ASKME" question answered during the logon process.
File Status: Reserved for future use.
File Security Code: For HRTC and RXTC, this field contains the User ID of this file's creator.
Send Number: Reserved for future use.
Create Date: The date this entry was created.
Access Date: For Use Files, the date this Use File was last accessed.
Send Date: The date this entry was created.
