Year Definitions - SIUPYR

Define valid Year codes and the range of dates when orders may be entered. At least one year must be defined. If the client site is not using the delivery route (SIUPDR) feature, it is recommended to define an active year code of “NONE” with a date range of 1/1/2010 through 12/31/2050.

Year: An eight-character field used to define the year. It is designated by a code of 1 to 8 alphanumeric characters. The year code simply represents a time-period and does not have to correspond with a calendar, fiscal, or school year. For example, the fall, spring, and summer school periods may be represented by the year codes 2012FALL, 2013SPRG, and 2013SUM.
Description: This field provides a description of the year code. Up to 30 characters may be entered in this field. For example, 2013SUM might have the description "2013 Summer School".
Active: When the box is checked, the year is active and may be used in route assignments and ordering, such as within the SI Delivery Route Information and SI Create/Update Orders pages when the box is unchecked, the year cannot be used. This allows warehouse staff to configure future years without making them available to the users placing orders.
Ordering Start Date: This date specifies the first date of an ordering period. When an order is placed, only year codes with a date range including the date of entry may be chosen from the "Year" field drop list. This date should be the first date users are allowed to enter orders for the year code. Overlapping date ranges with other "Year Definition" records are allowed.
Ordering End Date: This date specifies the last date of an ordering period. When an order is placed, only year codes with a date range including the date of entry may be chosen from the "Year" field drop list. This date should be the last date users are allowed to enter orders for the year code. Overlapping date ranges with other "Year Definition" records are allowed.
