Organization Key Parts - GLUPKP

This page is used to define validated Org Part codes for the various organizational parts, defined for a given ledger on the GL General Information (GLUPGN) page. Org Part Code values must be defined for each of the ledger's Org parts before Org keys can be defined on the GL Organization Keys (GLUPKY) page. E.g., if the general ledger has an organization part of "Fund," the user will now define the Fund codes and associated descriptions. These codes are used as background parts in the creation of Org keys as well as account parts for fully qualified accounts and are useful for sorting, report selection criteria, and report development.

Org Part Code: Enter a maximum of eight characters to associate with the organization part. The GL General Information page, Org Key tab, dictates the length and characteristics of the code.
Long Description: Enter up to 30 characters to describe the Org Part Code associated with the Organization Part.
Medium Description: Enter up to 16 characters to abbreviate the description of Org Part Code. Leaving this field blank will cause the system to enter the first 16 characters of the long description the field.
Director: The name of the person who is identified as the director of the Org Part Code. When an individual is assigned responsibility for one or more Org Part Codes, they may be assigned as the director and easily extract information for analysis purposes.
Ledger: Select the ledger code for the Org Part Code being defined. The ledger code will default to the active ledger. The ledger code selected will cause the Organization Part drop-down list to be populated with valid codes.
Organization Part: Select the short description of the Organization Part to associate with the Org. Part Code being defined. Options listed will be determined by the ledger code selected, displaying parts defined on the GL General Information page, Org Key tab.

Miscellaneous Flags

Flag 1-10: Up to ten, two-character flags that may be associated with the Org Part Code.

Account Matrix

The section applies when using auto-generated account functionality. Users can create new accounts based on background parts pre-defined in an account matrix. The matrix defaults the correct background parts to newly created accounts. When adding a part code, you can only add a single entry for each part code within a single record. Account matrix functionality requires common code GLFG/NEWKEY02.

Free Form Text

Notes can be added to the free form text field. Tab labels are defined in common code GLTT/XXXXXXXX . E.g., GLTT/COMMENTS creates a tab label of "COMMENTS."
